Nice to see a few regulars and some new members

Trail Leader orientation for the October gathering went well thanks to Gary/Ron for the pre printed format

BTW, we all tried the new obstacle course, and wouldn't you now Shrek got stuck. Hung up the rear diff on a large rock that became an anchor pivot. I tried to mussle my way forward with full lockers only to dig myself nose deep into soft sand. Mr. Warn always on station came through without a glitch. Nice that every tough section has a bypass. Definately a nice addition to the Park. Cudos to those responsible for their hard work.

Sorry I missed it, but I had Lea McGee ride shotgun thru Bodega bay almost all day, as I was lead truck, and not only got a 30° side tilt and a massive captian morgan, went for the 45° side tilt too...

now a little less clenched and ready for October.

Great pix! Will, you weren't kidding  That's stuck! The new course looks fun. Wish I could have gone - I had the season ending quarter midget races. I felt the temps like you guys did. 107* up in the SJ hills!!! Sure looking forward to October! :D

After driving too fast and missing Steve I slowed down on the 101 where Ron and Dan appeared in the rear view mirror. They wanted to stop at the 76 station in Hollister so I called Steve and told him the plan. After some chatting and introductions we made our way towards the Ranger Station.

We headed towards the obstacle course where Will led a meeting about the Trail Leader Protocol for the annual meeting next month. It was informative and I was glad to get the handout to review before October. Everyone wanted to check out the new obstacle course so I led the way there.

There was a lot more dust this time and the ground was pretty soft. It was cool to see the newer models out there including the P38's (Nick and Phil) and the LR3's (Luis and Bob). As Will mentioned he got hung up on the rear diff but pulled himself out without issue. It was getting towards lunch and we thought of heading towards the Top of the World but there's no shade up there and it was getting so hot we decided to go to Jarell's Curve. Plus, there were 10 rigs by this point and it would have been a little crowded.

We parked in the shade and just as I was getting out I saw the last 15 feet Luis' decent of Truck Hill. Too bad I missed a good video opportunity, hopefully someone else was able to get some footage. A little later on about half of the group departed and the rest of us went back to the new obstacle course.

Dan got hung up on a rock, I think it was the same one that got Will, so Luis got to use his recovery strap for the first time. After trolling there for a bit we went to the old obstacle course and Steve tried to do the frame twister. The log section had some pretty deep ruts, but before that section Steve got stuck (his first time) when his radius arm got met the top of a rock. Nick was there and used his recovery strap for the first time as well. We went over to the action that was taking place at the mud pit, which was impossible to cross with a pull. It was decided we (Steve, Nick and myself) needed slurpies so we aired up at the ranger station and went to 7-eleven and headed home.

Since YouTube doesn't have albums here are the compiled videos from yesterday.
