Is this RoverMack or Conal from LRRForums? This is Ron B from the Mojave trip last year if you are indeed Conal.

Welcome!

Welcome!

Thank you Ron, looking to do some trips to Northern California ( and thanks again for the the book on Northern California Trails by Charles Wells ).

There was a post under the trips section about RR8 and Defense Mine by Desertcrawler, replied to by esteemed NCLR President Gotrovr about the last section which "shrek" did indeed walk through- combination of good driving and an impressive vehicle. If memory serves me correctly and photos illustrate this http://spaces.msn.com/conalmack all except "shrek" had difficulty negotiating the obstacle, when it came to my turn after a couple of failed attempts - limitations of no CDL and open front diff- i thought it would be actually quicker and prevent mechanical carnage to winch over the obstacle (MM winch very slow line speed) with help from Gotrovr- thanks.

I look forward to my membership confirmation (was not sure how automated the system was)

It a must have for N. Cal trails and you certainly deserved it for helping me out (other folks also helped out like Dbregman and so forth) especially getting my D1 (sold to DCProven by the way) towed to Bristish Car Service, and dropping me off to my hotel.

Which by the way helped me get ready for my client call next day and not worry about my D1 (vs leaving it in the desert, worrying and coming back probably stripped to the frame).

Call went well and I landed the account - helped pay for our expensive land rovering! :D

Catch up with you on the next trip! Glad you joined NCLR!

Cheers!
