I know I haven't been able to make it to any of the gatherings since I moved to Napa in June. I have been very busy at the winery. Anyway now that harvest is over I will definitely be at the Holiday gathering. See you guys then. Can't wait to go do some camping, fishing, wheeling, etc with you guys. Later.

We can always bring the gathering to Napa :)

What do you have for trails up there?

I just moved here...I really don't know anything about the area. I bet WineryRover would know for sure though.

There isn't much in the way of public trails in Napa County. About the only thing we have is Knoxville (BLM land) which is good for a "once a year" visit - especially after some rain to make it more interesting.
The good news is not much farther north in Lake County you have Cow Mountain and Mendo National Forest.

How about a lunch gathering in the Wine Country some Saturday at a local eatery? People could then make it a weekend if they want and stay over at local B&B or such.

Yea we could take over the Taylors Refresher.

Taylors would be perfect especially if the weather is nice. Knoxville is about a 30-45 minute drive from there, with camping available as well.

Ditto!
Their Texas Burger with the gi-normous jalapenos sounds good about now!
I'd say let's do a "NCLR or Land Rover Drive-up, Meet-up and Eat-up" get together in 2008 @ Taylor's. My wife I am sure will enjoy the trip to the wineries before or after!
And (Gary) nice job - I like the familiar look and feel! Yippie! I can post multiple photos in a single post - how about pics of my 200 TDI for starters! :D

That's it Gary. They have a big grass area in the back with tables and a big parking lot for all the rovers, and the food is great. There is actually a Taylors in the ferry building in SF now too.
Christian and I can get together and work on putting something together for early '08.
Do you like how I volunteered you Christian? :D

A trip to Napa AND a stop at Taylor's Refresher! My wife, baby and I are in! Seeing Taylor's brings back memories. One Saturday morning I woke and told my wife I had a dream that I ordered a double pork chop sandwich so I was craving one really bad. Nice dream by the way, even if it is a little weird to dream about food ;-)> That day we happened to stop at Taylor's while we were out wine tasting. Low and behold, their special of the day was a "Double Pork Chop sandwich" My wife and I just about died laughing over the coincidence. Thought I'd share that. Hope the NCLR-TR meet happens soon.
Regards,
Chris D.

Yeah so alright I'll throw out a date already: How about Sunday 2PM January 6th? I suggest a slightly after lunch time so that we can have more parking lot and table space. Officials why don't you guys put this on the calendar as a club event if it works?

This may be too short a notice for me if not the calendar.
Gary could broadcast to all members via email.
Would this be considered just a gathering, or would this be combined with a trail run, shopping run, or ??? run. ?

Mmmmm getting hungry just looking at that picture. Yeah that place is legendary.
I've got one huge beef with that place; in the last ownership change 7-8 years ago, they dropped the Bacon Nut Cheeseburger from the kitchen. It was off the menu for a couple years, but they still had all the fixin's on hand for the locals. Haven't been back since they refused to make me one on 2 separate occasions and I could see the jar of chopped peanuts on the shelf. Normally I wouldn't care, but it remains my favorite burger in the world. Well, I've never had a good burger outside the US, so my favorite in the USA and the galaxy. I used to drive in my bus from DAVIS just for a Bacon Nut Cheeseburger. Guess I'll show up to see you guys. If there is a jar of peanuts on the shelf, I'm going in the kitchen and showing them how to make it! Wow, can I hold a grudge or what?

THat's the point! Even the locals were turned away! My friend grew up in St. Helena eating at Taylor's, he's the one responsible for me getting hooked...the blame spreads...
